Absorbent Pads for Specimen Transport

Our absorbent pads are designed for the safe transport of pathology and diagnostic specimens, including blood tubes, sample vials, urine containers and swabs. They help contain leakage from primary specimen receptacles before it can compromise the wider packaging system.

For transporting liquids under UN3373 Biological Substances, Category B classification shipments, sufficient absorbent material should be placed between the primary receptacle or receptacles and the leakproof secondary packaging. The total absorbent capacity should be sufficient to absorb the entire liquid contents of all primary receptacles within the secondary packaging.

Our standard absorbent sheet measures 65x110mm and can absorb up to 50ml of liquid. Other pad sizes and absorbency capacities are also available on request.

Use with our specimen bags as part of a complete UN3373/P650 triple-packaging system.
