Tilt indicator cargo labels help protect upright-sensitive shipments by showing when goods may have been tilted beyond an acceptable angle during handling, storage or transit. Applied to the outside of cartons, pallets, crates, containers and other transit packaging, they support inspection on receipt, help deter poor handling and improve accountability across the supply chain.
These labels are well suited to goods where orientation matters, including machinery, cabinets, technical equipment, medical devices, electronics, furniture and other loads that should remain upright throughout the journey. By making it clear that a shipment is being monitored, tilt indicators can help reduce careless handling while highlighting consignments that may need checking before acceptance or onward use.
Each label features three separate tilt devices which work together to monitor both angle and direction of tilt. Two devices monitor left and right tilt between 30° and 80°, while a third device indicates complete inversion of the goods. Removal of the backing activates the label, allowing it to be applied simply to the outside of the completed shipment.
Unlike simple tip indicators that only show whether a package has passed a single angle threshold, this style of tilt indicator provides broader monitoring of tilt exposure during transit. That makes it particularly useful where leaning, off-upright storage or overturning could all create a risk of damage, leakage, internal movement or loss of calibration.
Each tilt indicator is supplied with a companion warning label to notify handlers that the shipment is being monitored and should be kept upright. Uniquely numbered and QR-coded labels help discourage replacement after activation, supporting receipt checks, internal investigations and wider supply chain accountability.
